On Wednesday, September 9, Ward 5 Town Council candidate Jerome Adamo will officially launch his campaign with a tailgate-style community gathering at Vito’s Pizza in the Sixth Line Plaza parking lot, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The September 9 event will mark the beginning of a seven-week tour of 6 of the 7 pizza places in Ward 5 —bringing politics out of council/committee chambers and directly into the community where it belongs.
“I believe democracy works best when people can actually see you, talk to you, question you and tell you what matters to them,” said Adamo. “So we’re taking this campaign to the people—one pizza place and slice at a time … while my supplies last of course.” The pizza places are just letting me use a few parking spots, and they aren’t here endorsing anything but COMMUNITY and that should always be the focus”
Seven Weeks of Pizza, Politics and Community
The current schedule includes:
- Wednesday, September 9 — Vito’s Pizza, Sixth Line Plaza — Campaign Launch
- Wednesday, September 16 — Double Double
- Wednesday, September 23 — Martino’s, River Oaks Boulevard
- Wednesday, September 30 — Pizzaville, Sixth Line
- Wednesday, October 7 — Location to be announced
- Wednesday, October 14 — Pizza Pizza, Dundas Street at the Food Basics Plaza
- Wednesday, October 21 — Panago Pizza, Neyagawa
All in-person events will begin at 6:30 p.m.
“These are meant to be easy, informal opportunities for people to stop by, grab a slice and have a conversation,” Adamo said. “You don’t need a political background, a prepared question and you already have the invitation. Come as you are.”
Ward 5 Live: Virtual Town Halls
Recognizing that not everyone can attend an evening event in person, Adamo will also host two Ward 5 Live virtual town halls.
The sessions will take place:
“These virtual town halls are about meeting people on their terms,” Adamo said. “Whether you’re working, caring for family, dealing with mobility challenges, or simply more comfortable participating from home, I want there to be a place for your voice.”
“I’ve Been Working for This Community for a Long Time”
Adamo says his campaign is about much more than the weeks leading up to Election Day.
“I’ve been working from the day I filed, but the truth is, I’ve been working for this community for decades. Thirty-five years of experience, relationships, advocacy and learning don’t disappear when an election begins,” he said.
“And I’ll continue working for you long after this election is over.”
As an educator, Adamo says his vision for Oakville is deeply connected to the children he sees every day.
“Every morning, I wake up thinking about the future. And the future I want is the future I want for the kids sitting in front of me in my classroom every single day—a community where people belong, where families can afford to live, where people are heard and where government works for the community.”
Adamo’s message to Ward 5 residents is simple:
“Say yes to me, so I can say yes for all of you.”

Jerome Adamo has announced his candidacy for Ward 5 Town Councillor, building on a record of public service and community leadership at both municipal and federal levels.
An early childhood educator and labour advocate, Adamo brings a people-first approach shaped by his work supporting families and workers. Having previously stepped forward as a federal candidate, he remains actively engaged in local initiatives and advocacy.
“I’ve always believed leadership starts with stepping up,” said Adamo. “Whether at the federal level or here at home in Oakville, my focus has been on giving people a voice and delivering real solutions.”
Adamo’s campaign is grounded in four pillars: community growth, safety, service, and a forward-looking vision.
“Oakville is an incredible place to live—but it’s time to move beyond the idea that ‘fun goes to hide’ here,” he said. “We should be a place where people can truly live, work, and play. Most importantly, our children deserve a hometown they can be proud of—one where they can grow, play, and build lifelong memories.”
Currently on temporary medical leave, Adamo is working within limited capacity while awaiting an outpatient procedure.
“I’m balancing my responsibility as a community and labour leader with my immediate healthcare needs and respect for my employer. I’m grateful for their support as I work to return to my classroom—and to my community. I am approaching this as a marathon, not a sprint.”
As Oakville grows, Adamo emphasizes building not just housing, but a connected, vibrant community—places where people can go, grow, and feel at home.
“Thank you to my team for stepping up. This campaign is about people. During a court case in 2000, a judge defined a municipality as ‘a democratic institution through which the people of a community embark upon and structure a life together’.”
“And that’s what we are building here in Ward 5 and in Oakville—a life together. In time, I hope you will say yes to me so I can say yes for you.”
